For many, the process of setting up your online business can be one that overwhelms you. It doesn’t have to be that way though. Staying on top of your business is possible. In this post, I’ll
When you get the idea of making it big on the internet, people will tell you that it’s easy and that you won’t need to put money into your online business. In business, have you ever seen someone make a good amount of money without really investing in their business? Me neither!
1. Find A Mentor

So, if you want to have a successful online business (and you wouldn’t be here if you weren’t serious about your business), strap yourself in your chair, take some notes and let’s dig in to start a business from home the right way.
First and foremost, you MUST have a mentor that will help you with setting up your business. I’m not talking about hand-holding, getting your site ranked appropriately using SEO (Search Engine Optimization) in the category you desire to be found.
You need to have someone that has already been where you have been. You’ll want to pull from their experience and use their advice. After all they have already been there and are where you want to go, right?
This doesn’t mean do half of what they are telling you to do either. So many new home business owners will take some and leave the rest which doesn’t work either. You have to be all in with your business, because it’s your livelihood. At least this is the attitude you should be taking.
There are businesses that require you to do certain things to be successful. One of those things is to show up consistently.? I know for me, it’s a huge plus to be able to have lots of downtime.? I love being able to set things up the first time, put the work in and let my content do all the work on social media and my blog.
Of course, you aren’t required to do anything. But if you want success to find you sooner than later – I highly suggest finding someone with know-how.
What To Look For In A Mentor
- Find someone who is established in the online arena or the arena you’ll be participating. This should mean that they are doing great already with their online business.
- Look for someone who you like to be around and has a heart for helping people. NOTE: The more successful, the less time they have. Be very cognizant of this when approaching with questions or asking for their time.
- A good knowledge of computers and the I/T field isn’t required for MOST home businesses. Your mentor should be able to show you the basics to get you going if you’re feeling like a novice.
- Guidance is key to having success out of the gate. This is shown in many different ways by mentors. Some will do videos on topics that are asked quite often. others that are having success but still small will give individual attention.
It really matters who your mentor is and if you don’t have one, you can expect to add at least 12-36 months of extra labor from trial and error.
Now, if you are like most, you’re saying, “that’s what the internet is for!” or “that’s what YouTube is for!”
I applaud you for thinking like this. However, aimlessly searching the internet for the right way for you is something you may need coaching to nail down what you need to do.
All #businesses need a #mentor to get started on the right foot. Click To TweetThere are many things you can learn from YouTube and searching google. However, there are also many things that you just can’t learn from these sources and are kept behind closed doors.
2. Be Consistent

I’m always amazed at how people will start off like a wild-fire and blog for 5-7 days and then expect their financial future to just take off and never, ever have to tend to the blog again.
Remember, this is a business and to be good at business, it needs to be done all the time and just like the old adage goes – “Practice makes perfect”. It’s true for business both off and online.
This is like riding a bike or…for me, learning to cook. The consistency allows us to learn about ourselves and what we do and don’t like to do. You will get a groove on, so to speak about how you do business successfully.
3 Things You Need To Know About Online Business:
Everyone…
- feels overwhelmed when they first start marketing online.
- is scared that they don?t have the right skill set.
- feels directionless and confused about what to do next.
3. NEVER QUIT

If you want to succeed in business, it really makes more sense to continue until you get it right, rather than to quit and hope it all works out for the best. Sometimes, it just is harder to get that success to come.
Remember that #Rome was not built in a day Click To TweetLastly, don’t be cheap. Start your business from home by having patients and invest yourself into it full heartedly. It takes a bit of money to reinvest in you! Now that doesn’t mean that you need to buy every guru’s answer to what you’re struggling with, but it does mean you may need to buy some things to help you get past the roadblock you’re currently facing.
Be SMART!
Fortunately, I’ve found a system that really helps me with all the key strategies that I need to know to be successful in my online business.

Getting an audience is hard. Sustaining an audience is hard. It demands a consistency of thought, of purpose, and of action over a long period of time.
