Most of my friends already know that life gives you opportunities which create growth. The lessons learned in tough times?aren’t always welcome, especially when it requires you to change what you are doing now to get to the place you want to go.
What do I mean by this?
A few years ago I decided to start a home business.
It was It was a desire of mine that took root before what I call my life-changing moment in which I’ll briefly tell you about below.
Struggles, tough times really.
So, back in 2010, I learned that my then wife had breast cancer. She took it very hard, as did I. However, I knew that – in my mind – she would get out of this healthier than for she was diagnosed. But the power of our words really to take us on the course of life that we are currently in presently. What I heard when the diagnosis was made was pretty impactful by my late wife.
When the doctor said “I’m sorry” – the words that came out of Carrie’s mouth were literally “…I’m gonna die!”

Today, so many of us do the very same thing with our words. They say things like
- “I’ll never be…”
- “I can’t believe…”
or even more blatant statements like
- “I’m just not a salesperson”
- “I’m not cut out for this”
and the list goes on and on!
You can now see that the words we say literally are self-prophecies because these very things happen the very way that we speak them.
What Can I Do About My Future?
In short, be very careful with the words you speak.
If you don’t trust what you’re going to say, start changing your heart and your belief systems. Self-serving words will start flowing out of your mouth without effort. The lesson learned here is quite obvious because quite frankly, you will start noticing this all around you if you’ve been alerted to this type of speech.
Here’s an example that is very blatant. I’m not picking on this group of people for those that are in this group.
Senior citizens. They, for the most part, are the worst about speaking death, dying and doom on their bodies. Have you heard about so and so, they are going through such and such and (insert personal diagnosis of doom here). Now it’s really not supposed to be like this, but rather we are to watch our very words that come out of our mouths and SPEAK LIFE to one another.
Age is no excuse.
How would someone change their mindset?
You can get some great deals on books to read which will help you in your journey to change your inner self for the better at Amazon. If you have a Bible, start reading it and find out who God says you are.
Is My Current Path Meant To Be My Destiny?
In every day there lies a story that is meant to teach you the road to bigger and better things or the opposite.
During this time of trial and error, I found that there wasn’t any answer to the specific type of cancer that was living in my wife – yet she was declared cancer-free only months after taking all the chemo. Her words were still resonating in her head that she would make it and not die,
What did she really believe would happen?
What words really resonated in her heart?
It says in the Bible,
But the things that come out of a person's mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. Matthew 15:18 #GodsWord #Mindset Click To TweetSo, if it comes out of your mouth, you will either see tough times or good times. ?That’s putting it rather mildly too!

Those that believe this quote,?also believe that there’s a reason for every bad thing that happens. ?I would say yes. There is a reason why things happen. But I’ll also add to that statement by saying tough times don’t necessarily mean bad times. There were?probably some decisions intertwined into the mix. These reasons are the result of bad or tough times,?which could have been changed by better decision making.
I believe that the biggest failure in life is when we start disbelieving in ourselves, or put another way, telling yourself that you’re no good is going to push yourself to the lacking side of the equation.
The answer to this equation really is for those that aren’t quite where they want to be, to suit up and get in the game. We all should know that if you’re in the game and want to stay in the game, you need to produce good results or you get yanked and placed on the bench.

Books For A Great Mindset That Help You With Lessons Learned in Tough Times
Over the past few years, I’ve discovered the real value in reading books from accomplished people in life. If it’s a book such as Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, or Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad, you will certainly learn something that you can either implement in life. The best thing about growing your mindset is knowing that you are working on becoming a better person.
The best book of all time, in my opinion, is the Bible. The principles in this book are timeless and have worked to create abundance and success for many people in life. I would venture to take a wild stab in the light that most of the books that are well-known took their principles from the Bible.
The official stance on success is very clear for those that want it.
- Be clear about your goal(s)
- Be very consistent in your action(s)
- Speak life towards others continually (meaning lift others up)
Those are some of the success principles you will see repeated throughout most any self-help book meant to change your mindset.
